Have you ever wondered just how prepared a Red Cross chapter is for disaster?
I mean, if a quake hit Portland, not only do we have to respond and help everyone else, there's also a good chance that our headquarters could be damaged and people in our own building could be injured. What's our internal disaster plan? How do we continue operations if our HQ is destroyed?
Well, the good news is that a plan exists (maybe we can get Eric Corliss to blog about it) and we drill so that we know what to do. But right at the moment, we also have a real-life example. The Red Cross chapter in Enterprise, Alabama just got hit by a tornado.
You can find out more here. And we'll be paying attention to find out just how they handle helping themelves while still helping others.
